Civil CADD Technician/Designer

The designer will be part of the CADD team and integrate with the engineering staff for pavement and civil development projects. CADD designers collaborate with our civil engineers to design a wide variety of projects worldwide for airfields, industrial rail yards and seaports. Efforts include all aspect of site civil design. We have two positions available, one with 3 years of experience and another with 5 years of experience.

  • After internal Tigerbrain University training, the designer will work under a mentor to learn the Company’s processes
  • Work from civil plans and base files or land planning documents to produce engineering construction documents in AutoCAD/Civil 3D
  • Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names, site grading, create existing and proposed surface models, profiles, typical section sheets, pipe networks, sheet set manager, plan production tools, fields, styles, corridors/assemblies, and file names for sheet layout
  • Be proficient in preparing high-quality, innovative and accurate plan drawings in Civil 3D
  • Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision and red lines
  • Use creative design approach to solve design challenges and have meticulous attention to detail
  • Effectively monitor and manage deadlines of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Inform project manager(s) and client managers of progress on assigned projects and communicate design concerns
  • Have excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, along with a strong professional work ethic and sense of personal accountability
  • Be able to work cohesively in a team environment and have good verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Other duties as may be assigned


  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D
  • Minimum of three years’ experience using AutoCAD/Civil 3D for land development engineering design work
  • Demonstrated design experience on large land development or large “big box” site civil projects
  • Demonstrated design experience in more than one state or country a plus
  • Prior US military experience a plus
  • Prior airfield design experience a plus
  • Associates Degree or Diploma in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design
  • Applicant must be a US citizen and capable of passing US security background checks
  • US military contract requirements do not allow dual-citizenship or non-US citizens
  • Applicant must pass drug screen and driving record check


  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience, starting at $60,000
